およそ２００年間にわたって演奏された路次楽・御座楽ですが、
明治の廃藩置県以降、楽器や楽譜も消滅し、幻の宮廷音楽と呼ばれていました。
しかし、創設者の阿波連本勇が、沖縄を代表する古典音楽家である山内盛彬先生・祖慶剛先生のアドバイスを得て、
楽器や楽譜の復元作業を行い、代々首里王府路次楽演奏者の血筋を引く知念賢松先生の指導を受け、
１９７７年に今の保存会を結成。
現在も、路次楽・御座楽の復興、伝統文化の保存と継承発展を目的として、
調査や演奏活動を続けています。

Although Rujigaku and Uzagaku was played for over 200 years, the abolition of feudal domains led to the destruction of instruments and musics notes resulting it to become the lost court music of the Ryukyu Kingdom.
However, after Honyu Aharen, the founder of Ryukyu Kingdom Administration Rujigaku Uzagaku Preservation Committee, received the advice of traditional music teachers Seihin Yamauchi and Tsuyoshi Sokei, the restoration of instruments and music notes began under the direction of Shuri Kingdom’s Rujigaku direct descendant Kensho Chinen and this preservation group was created in 1977.
To this day, we continue to restore and preserve Rujigaku and Uzagaku as a traditional art by passing down the tradition through studying and playing the music.
